„Zwischenwelten“ è un libro d’artista che riunisce opere di Linda Jasmin Mayer e contributi di diverse autrici e autori nati in dialogo con la sua pratica. I testi affrontano temi quali trasformazione, mondi intermedi e relazioni tra forme di vita umane e non umane, ampliando le riflessioni che attraversano il lavoro dell’artista.
Nata a Merano e residente a Gand, Mayer sviluppa video, performance, maschere e installazioni site-specific, indagando forme di coesistenza, vulnerabilità e interdipendenza tra corpi, ambienti ed ecosistemi.
In occasione della presentazione a Museion, il libro sarà attivato attraverso una nuova performance. Una serie di maschere ispirate agli organismi plancton esplora il respiro come processo condiviso e infrastruttura fondamentale della vita, rendendo visibili connessioni che attraversano specie, corpi e habitat.
Alla serata partecipano Linda Jasmin Mayer (artista e autrice), Els Wuyts, autrice dell’introduzione e di un testo dedicato alla ricerca sul plancton del Mare del Nord, Sabine Gamper (scrittrice e curatrice) e la casa editrice Hopper & Fuchs.

„Zwischenwelten“ ist ein Künstlerbuch, das Arbeiten von Linda Jasmin Mayer mit Beiträgen verschiedener AutorInnen vereint, die im Dialog mit ihrer künstlerischen Praxis entstanden sind. Die Texte widmen sich Themen wie Transformation, Zwischenwelten und den Beziehungen zwischen menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen Lebensformen und erweitern Fragestellungen, die das Werk der Künstlerin prägen.
Die in Meran geborene und in Gent lebende Künstlerin entwickelt Videoarbeiten, Performances, Masken und ortsspezifische Installationen und untersucht dabei Formen von Koexistenz, Verletzlichkeit und gegenseitiger Abhängigkeit zwischen Körpern, Lebensräumen und Ökosystemen.
Anlässlich der Präsentation im Museion wird das Buch durch eine neue Performance aktiviert. Eine Serie von Masken, inspiriert von Planktonorganismen, untersucht Atmung als gemeinsamen Prozess und als grundlegende Infrastruktur des Lebens und macht Verbindungen zwischen verschiedenen Lebensformen und ihren Umwelten erfahrbar.
An der Veranstaltung nehmen Linda Jasmin Mayer (Künstlerin und Autorin), Els Wuyts, Verfasserin der Einleitung und eines Textes zur Planktonforschung in der Nordsee, Sabine Gamper (Autorin und Kuratorin) sowie der Verlag Hopper & Fuchs teil.

„Zwischenwelten“ is an artist book that brings together works by Linda Jasmin Mayer and contributions from various authors, all developed in dialogue with her practice. The texts explore themes such as transformation, in-between worlds, and the relationships between human and non-human forms of life, expanding upon the ideas that run through the artist’s work.
Born in Merano and based in Ghent, Mayer creates videos, performances, masks, and site-specific installations, exploring forms of coexistence, vulnerability, and interdependence among bodies, environments, and ecosystems.
On the occasion of its presentation at Museion, the book will be activated through a new performance. A series of masks inspired by planktonic organisms explores breathing as a shared process and a fundamental infrastructure of life, making visible the connections that span species, bodies, and habitats.
Participants in the evening include Linda Jasmin Mayer (artist and author), Els Wuyts (author of the introduction and a text on North Sea plankton research), Sabine Gamper (writer and curator), and the publishing house Hopper & Fuchs.
