Negli ultimi cinque anni Martina Melilli e Alyona Larionova hanno esplorato la maternità, l'ecologia e la cura attraverso un'amicizia e una collaborazione artistica. Insieme si interessano a comprendere come i sistemi di conoscenza abbiano spesso ridotto le piante e la maternità da relazioni vissute a categorie da nominare e controllare. Il progetto dà vita a un giardino performativo che prende forma attraverso incontri, narrazioni e gesti di cura.
Durante le Bolzano Art Weeks saranno invitate donne e membri delle comunità locali di qualsiasi genere a condividere storie di cura e di maternità. I loro racconti saranno trascritti su carta artigianale contenente semi e piantati collettivamente. I semi saranno scelti per le storie e le memorie che custodiscono. Man mano che la carta si dissolve e i semi iniziano a germogliare, racconti e piante si intrecciano progressivamente. Ciò che nasce come un gesto performativo durante le Bolzano Art Weeks continua come un giardino vivente, che cambia con il susseguirsi delle stagioni e grazie alle persone che se ne prendono cura.
In den vergangenen fünf Jahren haben Martina Melilli und Alyona Larionova Mutterschaft, Ökologie und Fürsorge im Rahmen einer Freundschaft und künstlerischen Zusammenarbeit erforscht. Gemeinsam interessieren sie sich dafür, wie Wissenssysteme Pflanzen und Mutterschaft häufig von gelebten Beziehungen zu Kategorien reduziert haben, die benannt und kontrolliert werden können. Das Projekt schafft einen performativen Garten, der durch Begegnungen, das Erzählen von Geschichten und Akte der Fürsorge Gestalt annimmt.
Während der Bolzano Art Weeks werden Frauen sowie Mitglieder lokaler Gemeinschaften aller Geschlechter eingeladen, Geschichten über Fürsorge und Mutterschaft bzw. Care-Arbeit miteinander zu teilen. Diese Erzählungen werden auf handgeschöpftes Saatpapier übertragen und anschließend gemeinsam eingepflanzt. Die Samen werden aufgrund der Geschichten und historischen Bedeutungen ausgewählt, die sie in sich tragen. Während sich das Papier nach und nach auflöst und die Samen zu keimen beginnen, verweben sich Geschichten und Pflanzen miteinander. Was als performative Geste während der Bolzano Art Weeks beginnt, setzt sich als lebendiger Garten fort, der sich mit den Jahreszeiten und durch die Menschen verändert, die sich um ihn kümmern.
For the past five years Martina Melilli and Alyona Larionova have explored motherhood, ecology and care through a friendship and artistic collaboration. Together, the artists are interested in how systems of knowledge have often reduced plants and motherhood from lived relationships into categories to be named and controlled. The project creates a performative garden that takes shape through encounters, storytelling and acts of care.
During Bolzano Art Weeks, women and members of local communities of any gender will be invited to share stories of care and mothering. Their stories will be transcribed onto handmade seeded paper and planted collectively. The seeds will be chosen for the stories and histories they carry. As the paper dissolves and the seeds begin to grow, stories and plants gradually become intertwined. What begins as a performative gesture during Bolzano Art Weeks continues as a living garden, changing with the seasons and those who care for it.
