Nell'ambito del Kids Culture Festival 2026, Lucas Zanotto darà a Bolzano un volto - o meglio, molteplici volti - utilizzando coppie di occhi alte fino a quattro metri, dal 24 al 26 settembre.

Bolzano acquisisce un volto: attraverso l'opera di questo designer di fama internazionale, lo spazio urbano pubblico si anima, trasformandosi in un luogo di cultura accessibile a bambin* famiglie e al grande pubblico.

HAVING A FACE è un progetto nato tra il 2012 e il 2017, quando l'artista portava con sé due piatti di carta durante i suoi viaggi; dipingendo un punto su ciascuno per creare degli occhi e disponendoli in coppia nel paesaggio, li trasformava in un volto. Al contempo, queste coppie di occhi minimaliste instauravano un dialogo con i luoghi e le situazioni specifici in cui apparivano. Per Bolzano, Lucas Zanotto reinterpreta il progetto in versione XXL: popola il paesaggio urbano con occhi alti fino a quattro metri, creando un incontro giocoso e sorprendente tra arte, architettura e pubblico.

Sabato 26 settembre, alle ore 11:00, si terrà una parata festosa per le vie di Bolzano alla scoperta di questi volti, organizzata in collaborazione con la Fondazione Architettura Alto Adige. Durata: un'ora e mezza. Punto di ritrovo: Piazza Walther; punto di arrivo: Museion.

Bozen bekommt ein Gesicht: Mit der Arbeit des international renommierten Designers wird der öffentliche Stadtraum als niederschwelliger Kulturraum für Kinder, Familien und ein breites Publikum aktiviert.

HAVING A FACE ist ein Projekt, das zwischen 2012 und 2017 entstand, als der Künstler zwei Pappteller auf Reisen mitnahm, jeweils mit einem Punkt bemalte und somit Augen verpasste, die in der Landschaft als Paar arrangiert zu einem Gesicht wurden. Gleichzeitig schafften es diese reduzierten Augenpaare jeweils mit den Orten und Situationen in Dialog zu treten. Für Bozen interpretiert Lucas Zanotto das Projekt als XXL-Version neu: Er bespielt mit bis zu vier Meter große Augen den Stadtraum und schafft eine spielerische, überraschende Begegnung zwischen Kunst, Architektur und Publikum.
Am Samstag, 26. September, um 11:00 Uhr findet gemeinsam mit der Architekturstiftung Südtirol ein Festzug durch Bozen statt. Dauer: 1,5 Stunden. Treffpunkt: Waltherplatz, Endpunkt: Museion.

As part of the Kids Culture Festival 2026, Lucas Zanotto will give Bolzano a face - or rather, multiple faces - using pairs of eyes up to four meters tall, from September 24 to 26.

Bolzano gets a face: through the work of this internationally renowned designer, public urban space is activated as an accessible cultural venue for children, families, and the general public. HAVING A FACE is a project that originated between 2012 and 2017, when the artist took two paper plates with him on his travels; by painting a dot on each to create eyes and arranging them as a pair within the landscape, he transformed them into a face. At the same time, these minimalist pairs of eyes engaged in a dialogue with the specific locations and situations where they appeared. For Bolzano, Lucas Zanotto is reinterpreting the project as an XXL version: he populates the urban landscape with eyes up to four meters tall, creating a playful and surprising encounter between art, architecture, and the public.

A celebratory “procession” through Bolzano, organized in collaboration with the South Tyrol Architecture Foundation, will take place on Saturday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m. Duration: 1.5 hours. Meeting point: Waltherplatz; end point: Museion.
